There are a variety of different methods and practices to cleansing and to detoxify your body. Not all of them work as well as others but most have some merit to them, but there are some guaranteed methods to get you started and make a colon cleanse much easier, which this article will detail. The quickest and most straight forward method is to do some form of fasting, which allows your body time to heal itself because it’s not busy breaking down food and using all that energy just to process that food, which often isn’t the healthiest or easiest food to digest either.

There are many forms, types, and levels of fasting and some are more effective than others, not every total colan cleanse is created equal. From the research I’ve done, and from my own personal use, juice fasting is the most effective form of a body cleanse because this type of fasting allows your body to have the opportunity to heal itself by not breaking down solids but is also benefitting from the nutrients you gain from the juice and thereby making the entire cleansing process much more efficient and safe.

Why fresh juice is best for a detox

Bottled juices are extremely convenient and if that’s simply the only thing you can buy, having “not from concentrate” and preferably organic juices is better than the fake juice blends and concentrates you typically find. The reason fresh made juices are the best is because they are what’s known as a “living food”.

What makes these juices “alive” is that they are full of enzymes, enzymes which allow all the wonderful vitamins, minerals, and nutrients found in fruit and fruit juice to actually be absorbed instead of expelled through your digestive system. Store bought juices, even the best of them, lose much of their nutritional value due to pasteurization, even light pasteurization can kill a lot of what is so beneficial about fruit and vegetable juices. So if you are able, be sure to make fresh juice from organic produce with a juicer all the time if possible, this leads to a vastly superior total cleanse at the end of the day.

How Green Tea Can Improve a Cleansing Routine’s Results

Green tea has long been recognized by the Chinese and in Asia in general for its multitude of uses, but it also has some great benefits to a  whole body cleanse as well. Green tea has recently caught on in the western world as well for its powerful antioxidant’s and ability to boost the immune system. What makes green tea such an excellent addition to a total body cleanse is twofold: one is its ability to increase your metabolic rate which helps in the burning and removal of excess fat, and two: green tea encourages proper digestion when consumed with food as well as juices and smoothies.

Proper digestion is key to removing all the waste that we build up in our bodies especially if you have never done any cleansing ever or it has been many years. Green tea can help facilitate the waste removal process and thereby making the rest of the cleanse much more efficient. I recommend at least 2-4 cups a day to start seeing real benefits. If you cannot brew your own tea leaves which is always best, I recommend buying bottled tea by Ito En called “Oi Ocha” it has no sugar, 0 calories- as tea should be, a healthy dose of vitamin C, and it’s the most authentic you can buy as a bottled tea.

Green Smoothies can Keep Digestion Flowing Properly

Smoothies have always been popular, but a new trend has caught on with many and it’s the creation of the humble green smoothie.  Green smoothies are simply fruit smoothies with added leafy greens to add a nutritional kick and allow for people to get there daily, or sometimes more than daily serving of fresh greens in their diet. The benefit of smoothies and particularly green smoothies is that your getting tons of fiber which lowers cholesterol and is essential for proper waste removal.

These smoothies can be made with mostly any fruit and any combination of greens your heart desires just be sure to use a high powered blender like the total blender from blendtec or a vitamix as these high end blenders make a quick and consistent smoothie with ease.

I’ll detail a simple recipe here that you can start with and give it a try for yourself. You can vary the amounts of each ingredient according to your own preferences for serving size and blender size. Use frozen fruit if you want a thicker and colder smoothie.

·         1 handful of ice

·         A half to full cup of purified water

·         1-2 peeled bananas

·         A cup of strawberries

·         A cup of blueberries

·         1 apple

·         2 handfuls of kale or spinach
